Developer Blog #12

Hi everyone,
We’re back with another development update, although this one will be on the shorter side as our team continues to focus on improving the backend of the platform for the upcoming integration of school accounts. While new content continues to be a bit light on, we’ve been hard at work refining and fixing some bugs to enhance your experience on the site. Here are a couple of the key fixes we’ve made recently:
1. Disabling Non-Functional Features on Task Creation Page
One of the recent adjustments we’ve implemented is related to the “Create a Task” page. You may have noticed the “Q&A” and “Custom” task options, which are still in development. To avoid confusion, we’ve greyed out these tabs. This will prevent users from thinking these options are available just yet.
Previously, these tabs looked like clickable options, leading to some confusion. We hope this small adjustment will make things clearer as we continue developing these features.
2. Main Page Display Bug Fix
Another issue we addressed was a bug on the main page when users returned after logging in. In some instances, the page wasn’t displaying properly, causing a mismatch between the expected and actual layout. After looking into this, we found the root cause and have now fixed the issue. The main page should now load correctly for all users.
Design Updates: Enhancing the User Experience
Alongside the bug fixes and continued work on our school account back-end systems, we’ve managed to squeeze in some time to focus on the look and feel of the site. We even brought in a few design experts to give the platform a fresh once-over, ensuring it remains as visually appealing as it is functional.
Based on feedback, users have expressed their satisfaction with the clean aesthetics, so we’ve made it a priority to maintain this look while enhancing the overall usability. One of the most notable updates is the introduction of video-based tutorials. These short, informative videos are now featured on each page, guiding users through key features in a simple and visual way.

Additionally, we’ve designed the upcoming “Ask Anything” chatbot. This tool is built to assist educators in real time, offering quick answers to questions by leveraging the embedded curriculum. It will support tasks such as curriculum-based task creation, streamlining the process for teachers. While there’s much more planned for this tool, the immediate goal is to roll it out in its current visual form, with more features to follow.

You can expect to start seeing these design updates roll out over the next few weeks. I’ll also be personally updating all the tutorial videos for each page to ensure the platform is as helpful and simple to use as possible.
Finally, we’ve made some subtle adjustments across the interface, from button placements to the overall layout, all to ensure the experience remains intuitive while keeping the visual appeal you’ve all enjoyed.

Looking Ahead
As we wrap up this shorter development update, our focus moving forward is to bring some key improvements to school accounts. However, we anticipate this will take the majority of Term 4 to finalise. Our team is committed to delivering these updates, ensuring they align with the high standards we’re attempting to set for the platform.
Finally, as part of our efforts to increase awareness about TeachersAI, we’ve launched a small advertising campaign on Facebook. Our goal is to ensure we’re using the best tools available to effectively reach out to teachers and showcase the benefits of our platform. If you’ve seen our ads, we’d love to hear your feedback!
We appreciate your patience as we work behind the scenes, and we’re excited to bring you more substantial updates in the near future.
Stay tuned, and as always, thank you for being a part of TeachersAI!….
Cheers,
Stuart
